Environmental policy

Practice swords are posted in cardboard boxes and I would encourage all of my customers to reuse or recycle the box where possible. Reusing boxes is one of my favourite ways to help protect our environment which is why some orders, particularly larger orders, may arrive in a recycled box.

Due to the often dreich Scottish climate, results books and sword bags are dispatched in waterproof mailing bags as opposed to paper envelopes. I have worked hard to source greener bags which are made from 100% recycled material, biodegradable and can be recycled with carrier bags at most major supermarkets.

I am phasing out my current cellophane bags used for my sword pencils to new recyclable clear bags. The padded envelopes I currently use for posting the sword pencils are also being phased out in favour of Sealed Air Mail Lite envelopes. These envelopes are environmentally friendly as the inner bubble can easily be separated from the outer paper for recycling and the AirCap bubble contains a minimum of 60% recycled content .

The hilts on my practice swords and sword pencils are made from Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE). During my manufacturing process, I ensure that there is minimal waste and anything that is left over is recycled responsibly.
